GM Fire can provide:

Fire Risk Assessments

Did you know in England and Wales every building that is not a single private dwelling should carry out a fire risk assessment? This includes shops, offices, factories, pubs, common areas of flats…even scout huts!

If you employ 5 or more persons, are licensed under any enactment or have an Alterations Notice on the building, you must keep a written record of the significant findings of the fire risk assessment and any persons especially at risk. This must be available for inspection by the Local Authority, should they wish to view it.

This may sound like a daunting task but in small, simple premises it can be carried out by the occupier following Government guidance available from:

However, if your building is large, complex or people sleep there, then you may need a competent fire risk assessor to carry out the fire risk assessment on your behalf.

If your premises is already subject to enforcement activity, our consultants can advise the best action to take based on their own experience and knowledge gained as a former Local Authority Enforcement Manager.

Our comprehensive fire safety risk assessment reports are produced in the PAS 79 format and will provide you with a prioritised action plan with clear remedies to any issues found.

Fire Strategies

A fire strategy report details the fire safety provisions in a premises and how they operate to keep occupants safe.  A fire strategy is usually written at the design stage of a building, but may be written for an existing building if the original has been lost or major works have been carried out which would affect how the building operates.  Fire strategies are essential for complex buildings for the Responsible Person of the premises to understand the maintenance and operation of the building.
